Pleated Birdcage Skirt

I love this skirt.  I was waiting in anticipation for the “424 Fifth” collection at the Bay for one of their birdcage skirts.  I went to the Bay and realized there were a couple of barriers that blocked me from getting a skirt.  Barrier number one; while I love the red and lavender colour, I wouldn’t be able to wear it at work because the colour would be a distraction.  Barrier number two;  oh yes, it does comes in black but in a sporty mesh material that again I can’t wear to work.  Barrier number three; there were no sizes left and the price of $99 – $129 dollars didn’t appeal to me.  The sales girl noticed my dilemma and took me to the sales rack at Pink Tartan and this skirt was by its lonesome.  Original price $295 down to $89 and it’s PINK TARTAN!!! Oh, and the best part out of all this, it has deep pockets!!

In this post, I decided to dress down the skirt with a denim vest and a chunky necklace.  For the office I would replace the vest with a blazer and a dainty silver necklace instead.  An easy transitional outfit from the office to after work drinks.

Clothing:  Pink Tartan pleated birdcage skirt, H&M Man striped t-shirt, Textile by Elizabeth & James denim vest

Accessories:  Topshop necklace, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, Coach Silver Flats, H&M sunglasses
